LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – One-way traffic is being implemented at various locations for a broadband project along the west shore, including near Emerald Bay, leading to traffic and delays for drivers.

The project is a larger statewide effort by the California Department of Technology to bring high-speed internet to rural communities. The contractor is installing fiber optic lines at multiple locations around the lake.

One-way traffic is currently in place at various locations from Camp Richardson Rd to Cascade Creek, as well as near the El Dorado-Placer County line.

Motorists could encounter delays of up to 20 minutes at each location.

All work on road construction projects will be suspended on weekends and holidays.

Work will resume next week.
