INCLINE VILLAGE, Nev. – The association of Incline Village REALTORS® (IVR) received a $3,000 Fair Housing Grant to support national speaker Nate Johnson Overcoming Barriers to Fair Housing, at the Chateau in Incline Village Lake Tahoe, reinforcing its commitment to fair housing education, professional responsibility and housing access.

The grant award is made possible by the National Association of REALTORS® as part of its Community Development Advocacy program empowering REALTOR® associations to strengthen their communities through effective advocacy, partnerships, and on-the-ground initiatives.

“Nate engaged with all of us in a space of openness, safety & genuine inquisitiveness. The training was informative and interesting… I really appreciated the way Nate encouraged discussion and made everyone feel comfortable participating,” said Heather Bacon, Compass Real Estate Advisor.  

Through this initiative, IVR supports training for equal professional services to every customer or client in our region, to help REALTORS® strengthen their understanding of the Fair Housing Act and better serve all prospective homeowners and renters. In addition to funding, local REALTORS® support the initiative for fair housing in the Tahoe Basin and Reno for all that want to purchase homes in our community.  Sierra Nevada Realtors®(SNR) is a partner with IVR to support this initiative and provides advertising support and the state and national licensing for the course.

REALTORS® know that Fair Housing is foundational to our Tahoe Basin/Reno real estate market and strong communities. Education and training play a critical role in upholding housing laws, addressing bias, and ensuring that all qualified buyers and renters are treated with dignity and fairness.

By leveraging this grant, Incline Village REALTORS® is investing in the knowledge, tools, and partnership needed to advance fair housing principles in the community.

Initiatives like Overcoming Barriers to Fair Housing classes reflect REALTORS®’ role beyond the transaction—investing in education, accountability and advocacy efforts that help ensure housing access and strengthen confidence in the real estate profession.
