ASTROLOGY
Our astrological considerations begin with a Virgo new moon on Sept. 10, marking the height of the farming harvest season and offering grounded energy for both goal setting and practical acts of service. Venus in early Scorpio opposite Chiron in Taurus will stir tension between transformation and comfort, asking us to consider what makes us feel truly secure during our lunar reflections. Mercury opposes Neptune retrograde in Aries on Sept. 12, prompting diplomacy in communication but potentially in a blurry and intangible way. This energy shifts on the 13th, when Mercury trines Uranus in Gemini, sparking clarity and insight. Mid-month brings an exact sextile between Pluto retrograde in Aquarius and Neptune, quietly repatterning collective dreams and power structures. Chiron retrogrades back into Aries on Sept. 17, revisiting wounded energy in the realms of identity and initiation just as Saturn opposes Mercury, bringing serious conversations to the table.
The sun moves into Libra on Sept. 22, delivering the autumn equinox and the balance between day and night. The Aries full moon on Sept. 26 conjoins Neptune, illuminating idealism and big dreams, while Mars in Cancer simultaneously squares Chiron in Aries. This full moon again asks us to let go of what isn’t working in favor of what we hope to experience, but with extra vigor and spice. Oct. 3, we have Mars, now in Leo, opposite Pluto in Aquarius, a reactive transit worth noting so we can cool our jets. The same day, Venus in Scorpio begins her retrograde, which will end in Libra on Nov. 13.
NATURAL MAGIC
Fall Equinox is a wonderful time to celebrate with family. Cook a harvest meal with root vegetables and your favorite protein. Light one dark candle and one light candle, to honor the balance in the sky that brings the seasons and cycles to our lives. Making a gratitude list for everything that summer offered you is also a powerful practice; it can anchor positivity and support manifestation, and may become something to utilize with each turning of the seasons.
During Venus’s retrograde, the planet will disappear from the night sky to reappear in November as a morning star. The time when Venus vanishes from the sky has been spiritually significant for all who came before us and is worthy of preparing for. Offer yourself time between Oct. 3 and Oct. 14, when Venus will leave the night sky, to reflect and journal on attachments in love, self-worth, and how even minor shifts in these areas may shape the way we show up for ourselves and others.
