SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – Tahoe Beach Club sponsored Bread & Broth’s Monday Meal on September 7, helping serve a hot dinner and provide take-home food to food-insecure community members. The event marked the first Adopt A Day of Nourishment sponsorship by the private beach club and residential community on Lake Tahoe’s Nevada shore. Representing the Club were Kristin Cleaver, Ambassador Manager; Jenny Skelly, Property Manager; Kevin Speer, General Manager; and John Watson, Facilities Manager.
As first-time sponsors, the AAD crew members were impressed by the tasty and filling Mexican-themed dinner and the generous selection of take-home food. Bags included meat, fresh fruits and vegetables, dairy products, breads and pastries, canned goods, and prepared foods that guests could use to provide meals later in the week.
In addition to donating $350 toward the meal’s cost, the AAD sponsor provides a crew to work alongside B&B volunteers on every task except cooking, which is handled by B&B’s volunteer cooks. Together, the volunteers served 128 dinners. “Tahoe Beach Club found this to be a very rewarding experience,” Kevin said. “The Bread & Broth volunteers were a delight to work beside.”
After welcoming and serving dinner guests on the serving line, Kristin reflected on the experience, “Thank you so much for having us! We will be back! It’s so great to be a part of the South Lake Tahoe community.”
Beyond sponsoring the September 7 Monday Meal, Tahoe Beach Club selected the Bread & Broth organization to be the recipient of their members’ Christmas Giving Tree donations during the upcoming holiday season.
“We are very thankful for the opportunity to give back,” said Jenny, who coordinated the Tahoe Beach Club’s AAD sponsorship. Bread & Broth looks forward to future AAD sponsorships and appreciates Tahoe Beach Club and the thoughtful staff members who joined them in helping feed those in need in the community.
