SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – For more than 20 years, Sierra-at-Tahoe has celebrated academic achievement by rewarding Lake Tahoe Unified School District students who earn straight A’s with a free season pass. This special Tahoe tradition recognizes students for their hard work in the classroom while giving them the opportunity to get outside and enjoy the mountain in their own backyard.

Last year’s students broke the record for the most Straight A Passes earned in a season since the program’s inception in 1999 with more than 400 passes, and there is hope that number continues to grow. Students who earned straight As during the 2025–26 school year will be notified by Sierra-at-Tahoe by November 1, 2026, if they have earned a free season pass for the 2026–27 season.

“Celebrating our local community, especially our youth, and supporting them in both their academic and athletic pursuits through our Straight A Program is a mission that Sierra has honored for more than 20 years,” said Dan Healy, Sierra-at-Tahoe General Manager and Vice President. “We hope the program encourages our local student body to strive for excellence while also providing them with the opportunity to explore their home mountain range and take in the wild beauty of the Sierra Nevada from its peaks.”
