At six years of age old and around 50 pounds, Rue is ready to fetch her way into your heart! This playful, people-loving girl has a big personality and a simple wish list: a good game of fetch, tasty treats, plenty of affection, and a family to call her own.

Rue enjoys spending time with her favorite people and would love a home where she can be part of the everyday fun. She’s an engaging companion who will thrive with a family that offers her plenty of mental and physical activity, along with the structure and guidance she needs to shine.

Just ask her volunteer friends! Laura D. describes Rue as an easy walking companion who pays attention to her person along the way. Rue loves her liver treats, back scratches, and face kisses. She also enjoys taking her time to explore the world through her nose. As Laura shared, “We spent much of the time just smelling.”

Volunteer Tara S. also found Rue to be a delight. Even when the weather brought rain and thunder, Rue remained calm and easy to walk. Afterward, she happily enjoyed being brushed and spent some quiet time with Tara. She also showed off her skills while practicing sit, down, and shake. It sounds like Rue appreciates both an outdoor adventure and a little pampering!

Rue is looking for a family ready to build a strong bond with her and help her have positive experiences with other dogs. If you have a canine companion at home, thoughtful introductions will be important to ensure everyone is a good match.
