Monday morning: Data shows high early voter turnout

As of 10:45 a.m. on Monday, Washoe County voters have returned 28.3% of mail-in ballots, according to a dashboard from the Nevada Secretary of State. That’s 92,646 ballots out of the 327,598 sent out.

Of the returned mail-in ballots, 40.8% are from registered Democrats, 31.7% are from Republicans and 27.5% are labeled as other.

As of Friday, Oct. 30, another 54,581 people have voted in person at polling places.

This year has seen more early votes compared to the 2024 general election, when just 26.9% of registered voters, or 90,382 people, had voted early in Washoe County as of 9 a.m. the day before election day.

By the time results were certified in 2024, data shows 67.6% of voters had voted early, by mail or using absentee ballots.
