SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – What better way to celebrate fall than spending a day doing everything that makes the season special? This year’s Lake Tahoe AleWorX Autumn Carnival is in full swing on Saturday, October 24, bringing with it a new partnership with the Boys & Girls Club of Lake Tahoe to host some epic fall fun at the Y. From classic carnival games to a people’s choice costume contest, it’s an event you don’t want to miss.

“This year, we decided to bring back the Autumn Carnival separately from our Oktoberfest,” said Luca Genasci, AleWorX founder and CEO.

As the first big fall event ever hosted at AleWorX’s Y location in 2017, it has evolved throughout the years to merge with Oktoberfest. However, this year, Genasci set out to ensure the Autumn Carnival had its own moment to shine once more.

Torch Club, a Boys & Girls Club small-group leadership and service club for teens, will be running a variety of carnival games for folks to enjoy, including classics like the ring toss and bobbing for apples.

“We’re really excited for that partnership because the Boys & Girls Club is deeply rooted in the kiddo world in the community,” said Genasci.

If you think your stomach has what it takes, enter in the carnival’s donut or pizza-eating contests and earn bragging rights for the rest of the year. Just be sure to let your stomach settle before jumping into the event’s newest addition, a bounce house.

“We haven’t done bounce houses before,” Genasci added. “We did one at our Rastafest, and it was super fun.”

There will also be an entire station dedicated to the season’s number one icon – pumpkins. Pumpkin painting will be provided, and if people want to bring their own supplies to carve pumpkins, they are welcomed to do so. Attendees can also match their pumpkins by getting their faces painted.

Of course, it wouldn’t be a top-notch event without live music. Bob Lopez, in addition to MCing, will be performing from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m., followed by Glitter Bomb, an upbeat 70’s disco tribute band who will take the stage from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Thanks to a brand new playground installed just behind The Crossings as part of the Tahoe Valley Stormwater and Greenbelt Improvement Project, kids will have more than enough entertainment throughout the day.

“It’s been magical to see the very seamless flow between our patio here at the corner, our backyard bar and grill area, and the new path and playground area,” Genasci said. “We absolutely love it.”

Dress in the season’s best and take your shot at winning a people’s choice costume contest. Show off your scary, creative or funny outfits and let your neighbors decide who will be crowned the winner.

The AleWorX Autumn Carnival will take place on Saturday, October 24 from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. The event is free to the community and welcoming to all ages.

“We’re always looking to find ways to get the community together, especially through the fall when it’s slowing down and we get our town back,” added Genasci. “The town has been so supportive of me growing up in South Lake and in my AleWorX endeavors. We want to be the vehicle that can give back to the community.”
