
LAKE TAHOE, Calif./Nev. – As temperatures reach the mid 60s in most of the basin and not a chance of snow is in sight, “Miracle March” is looking to skip Tahoe this year. As snowpack melts, possibly setting a record low, resorts have already begun closing for the season.
Here’s an update on the status of resorts as of Friday, March 20:

Sierra-at-Tahoe: 4 out of 14 lifts open; Closing March 22
Tahoe Donner Downhill Ski Resort: 3 out of 5 lifts open; Closing March 22
Diamond Peak Resort: Upper mountain closed; Lower mountain open until March 29
Heavenly Ski Resort: 16 out of 27 lifts open; Boulder and Olympic lifts closed. Closing April 19

Northstar California Resort: 11 out of 19 lifts open
Mt. Rose Ski Tahoe: 5 out of 7 lifts open
Palisades Tahoe: 22 out of 39 lifts open

Soda Springs Mountain Resort: 5 out of 7 lifts open
Sugar Bowl: 9 out of 11 lifts open
