To try and decide each week where and what to eat around the basin can be a challenge – there are so many amazing choices. In this feature we’ll dive into dishes that will surely satisfy those hunger pangs and leave you wondering where to go next.

I’m always down for trying new menu items. But when someone tells you it’s becoming a favorite and one person has even come in and ordered it seven different times, then I’m super down. Such is the case with this week’s feature – and honestly, I’m already contemplating when I’m going to back for number two.

For this dish we have to start with the chicken. All chicken served at The Woods is Mary’s chicken, so its premium quality already sets the tone for the rest of the ingredients. It’s marinated before getting cooked, chopped and tossed with cheddar cheese, fresh tomatoes, black beans, corn, white and green onions, shredded lettuce, and a house made chipotle aioli – all wrapped and grilled in a flour tortilla and served with a side of shoestring fries.

The first thing that you can’t help but notice is its size – it’s like the Titanic of wraps in a sea of canoes. But when you get your mouth around that first bite you can understand why it’s becoming popular. Textures and flavors galore, the chicken is the standout. Perfectly moist with just the right amount of heat and surrounded by corn kernels popping like fireworks with bursts of sweetness. The lettuce and tomatoes offer a palette of freshness, the black beans a note of earthiness, and everything else simply eats is supreme harmony.

Don’t sleep on the fries, either. They were described to me as like In-N-Out fries, but better. As an In-N-Out truther they did make me stop and compare and while I could not definitively say they were or weren’t, the feeling of not knowing might have given me the answer. Compare for yourself.
