INCLINE VILLAGE, Nev. — Incline’s Jackson Manship recorded two top three finishes last weekend at the regional swim meet and this weekend will fight for state championships.

Manship earned second place in the 50-yard freestyle and third in the 100 free Saturday at the Nevada Interscholastic Activities Association Class 3A/4A Northern Region Swimming and Diving Championships at Carson Aquatic Facility in Carson City.

The Highlander senior fell just short of winning the 50 free finishing in a time of 23.61 seconds, the winner hit the wall at 23.09.

Manship finished the 100 free in 53.63.

Ava Winter represented the Incline girls and earned sixth in the 500 free and also finished sixth in the 100 breaststroke.

The top four individuals in each event qualified for the state meet.

The NIAA 3A State High School Swimming and Diving Championships will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday again at the Carson Aquatic Facility.
