RENO, Nev. – Mt. Rose Ski Tahoe was honored by the Nevada Conservation League at its recent Home Means Nevada dinner with a Green Impact Award for the resort’s sustainability work, including natural resources stewardship, compost and specialty materials recycling, education and community engagement, and advocacy efforts.
Recognized as the independent political voice of Nevada’s conservation community, the Nevada Conservation League works to protect the state’s climate, air, water, land, and health by translating conservation values into political and policy priorities so all Nevada communities can thrive. The Green Impact Award recognizes the influential strides of a locally-based company or partner organization that places environmental consciousness at the core of its work.

“We’re honored to have been selected as a Nevada Conservation League Green Impact Award recipient,” said Anna Nason, Mt. Rose Ski Tahoe Sustainability Lead. “Our team has implemented a variety of sustainability initiatives we’re incredibly proud to be recognized for – from replanting native trees and landscape revegetation, to recycling sheave liners and other resort-specific gear, hosting nature tours and volunteer clean up efforts in the Tahoe Meadows and more.”
Mt. Rose Ski Tahoe received the award at the Nevada Conservation League’s Home Means Nevada dinner, which brings together conservation advocates, elected officials, business leaders, and community members from across the state. The annual event honors those who are advancing Nevada’s environmental priorities and raises support for the work to come.
This season, the resort is continuing its sustainability efforts with an onsite enhanced rock weathering trial project for carbon sequestration that is showing promising results, and partnering with Treadshare to offer resort guests a rideshare option to get to the mountain.
