Alan “Al” Anderson Moss, of Meadowlakes, Texas, passed away at home on August 15, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. He was 80 years old.
Al was born on September 14, 1945 in Salt Lake City, UT, to Earl and Eleanor Moss. He shared 60 years of marriage with his wife, Patricia “Patty” Moss. Together, they built a life centered around family, friendship, hard work, faith, and service to the communities they called home.
Al and Patty raised their three sons in South Lake Tahoe, California, where Al was active in business for more than 40 years and built many lasting relationships.
Service to others was a constant throughout Al’s life. A Rotarian for more than 40 years, he served communities in Lake Tahoe and Marble Falls. He shared his lifelong love of music through years of playing in a band. He was a longtime member of Edgewood Tahoe Golf Course. After moving to Marble Falls, he and Patty became an integral part of the St. Andrew Presbyterian Church family.
Above all, Al was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. His family was at the center of his life. Al will be remembered for his infectious laugh, warm personality, sense of humor, generosity, strong work ethic, and ability to make friends wherever he went.
Al was preceded in death by his parents and his older brother, Tim Moss.
He is survived by his wife, Patty Moss; his three sons and their families: Scott and Shannon Moss and their children, Alyssa and Dakota; Todd and Kerri Moss and their children, Kealy and Alexa; and Casey and Layne Moss and their children, Piper and Bode; and his brother, Don, and his wife, Diane Moss; and many nieces and nephews.
Al leaves behind a legacy of family, friendship, service, and a life well lived. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.
A celebration of Al’s life will be held in Marble Falls at Lakeside Pavilion October 9 at 4pm and at a later date in Lake Tahoe.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Rotary International, St. Andrew Presbyterian Church of Marble Falls, or a favorite charity in Al’s memory
