Jean Turle (née Grieg 88, passed away peacefully on December 2, 2025 in Gardnerville Nevada. Born on November 25, 1937 in Bournemouth England Jean lived a life marked by compassion, adventure and deep devotion to her family and community.
In 1963 Jean made the courageous journey from England to the United States with her husband, Michael and their son Steve they arrived in New York and traveled cross country by train to Reno Nevada. A journey that marked the beginning of a new chapter, filled with opportunity and love, settling into American life with grace and resilience Jean embraced her new home, while maintaining strong ties to her roots in England.
Jean dedicated much of her professional life to education. She worked for the Lake Tahoe. Unified school district as an instructional aide and later transitioned into special education. Her passion for working with children of all ages and abilities was evident in every classroom she entered. Her warmth and patience left a lasting impression on students and colleagues are like. After years of meaningful service, she retired in 1997.
Outside of work, Jean found joy in simple pleasures and meaningful connections. She had a fondness for jigsaw puzzles, and spent many hours piecing together intricate scenes. an avid hiker. She enjoyed exploring nature’s beauty whenever possible. Jean was also a devoted fan of the San Francisco Giants and rarely missed a game. Game nights were often spent playing Mexican train with friends and family, laughter, echoing around the table.
In the winter of 2004 Jean embraced a new lifestyle as a snowbird when she and Michael purchased a park model home in Apache Junction, Arizona deformed close relationships with fellow residents and created cherished memories under the desert sun. travel was another source of joy for Jean. She returned to England to visit family whenever possible and explored the pacific northwest and Canada. One particularly special trip was a cruise to Alaska in celebration of her and Michael’s 25th wedding anniversary.
Jean was a loving mother to Stephen (Lori) Gregory (Samantha) Victoria (Susan) she took immense pride in her grandchildren Tucker ray, and Taylor may Jean whose lives were enriched by her presents.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Michael Turle, whose memory remained close to her heart throughout her life.
Jean’s legacy is one of kindness, dedication and quiet strength. Her memory will live on through those who knew her, as a mother, grandmother colleague, Neighbor, or friend.
