A 19-year-old woman was arrested after driving under the influence

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – A 19-year-old woman was arrested and booked at the El Dorado County jail after she crashed her Subaru Outback on Saturday, July 18 before fleeing the scene.

According to California Highway Patrol (CHP), the South Lake Tahoe Police Department (SLTPD) reported a hit-and-run which occurred near the football field of South Tahoe High School. 

“We responded to the scene and found the 19-year-old female driver,” CHP Officer Ruth Loehr, Public Information and Media Relations told the Tribune. CHP also confirmed that the driver is a resident of South Lake Tahoe. 

After apprehending the female driver, CHP officers conducted a DUI evaluation and determined that she was under the influence of alcohol before her arrest. Several alcoholic beverages, including BuzzBalls ready-to-drink cocktails, were found in the driver’s possession.
