SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – 50 years operating a business in a place like Lake Tahoe is certainly cause for celebration, and this weekend, The Cork & More is hosting a lively party to honor their huge milestone. 

The Cork & More is a deli, market, and gift shop, all wrapped up in one and located in the heart of South Lake Tahoe. As a town favorite highlighted for its wine selection, gourmet cheeses, and cozy atmosphere, it’s no secret as to why this Napa-style market has become a city staple over the past 50 years. 

Along with creating all of their salads, sandwiches and soups with ingredients made in-house, they have decades of tasting and assembling wines from around the world, an assortment of diverse beers, kitchen accessories, home décor, and gift baskets. 

Offering a wide array of dynamic and mouthwatering catering menus running from breakfast/brunch to entrées and desserts, The Cork & More was recently voted 2026 Best of Tahoe’s best catering services, in addition to winning every year from 2021 to 2025.

“We’re looking forward to celebrating with the community that has helped us survive for so long,” said owner, Karla Brennan. 

Brennan and her husband took over ownership in 2016 and are commemorating 10 years in the role. 

November 7 marks The Cork & More’s official 50 years in business and they’ve put together an exclusive Anniversary Wine Tasting event featuring their favorite wines, gourmet bites and a storewide sale. 

Previous owners and founders, Jim and Kim Warlow who opened the shop in 1976, will be in attendance, and the community is invited to join in on the fun and “raise a glass to 50 years”.

Festivities kick off at 5 p.m. until 8 p.m., and tickets are $40 per person. There are a limited number of seats, so folks are encouraged to reserve their spots as soon as possible by calling 530-544-5253.
