A Labor Day weekend party for a Lake Tahoe girl’s soccer team ended up with the adult host being arrested on child endangerment and a score of contributing to the delinquency of a minor charges.

Deputies responded to noise and parking complaints at an address on Manzanita Court in Lake Village at 10:40 p.m. Saturday.

They were greeted by a broadside of alcoholic beverage containers thrown from the home’s balcony by high-school aged teenagers, according to the Sheriff’s report.

Deputies looked into the open front door to see around 30 teens standing inside along with the odor of spilled alcoholic beverages tinged with marijuana smoke.

Deputies directed the teens to sit down as the homeowner came downstairs.

He told the deputies he’d allowed his 15-year-old daughter to invite a few friends over, and that turned into many, stating “he later realized additional juveniles had been invited and the gathering had gotten out of hand.”

He also confirmed he knew many of them were underage and said he told his daughter to start sending kids home.

Deputies contacted the juveniles’ parents and while waiting, one girl who was obviously impaired tried to leave on her own, despite attempts by her friends and deputies to keep her inside. She ended up being taken into custody while the other juveniles received a citation after a breath test indicated they’d been imbibing.

After determining the homeowner should have been aware of what was going on, he was taken into custody for child endangerment and the 20 counts of contributing to the delinquency.
