Steady snowfall and slick roads have prompted chain requirements on Highway 50, from Twin Bridges to Meyers, on Sunday, Feb. 18.
According to Caltrans District 3, motorists should expect low visibility and slick conditions at Echo Summit.
Chain requirements apply to all vehicles, except 4-wheel drive vehicles with snow tires on all four wheels.
A winter weather advisory has also been issued for the Tahoe Basin and western Nevada until 10 p.m. Sunday. Additional snow accumulation of up to 2 inches is expected.
