STATELINE, Nev. – The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office arrested the executive director of the food and beverage department at Edgewood Tahoe Golf Course on probable cause of sexual assault on Saturday morning, Aug. 29.

According to a Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report, the victim, an unnamed female employee in the food and beverage department, experienced several unwanted comments and advances from the executive director, Abraham Rubio, in the weeks leading up to the incident.

The sexual assault reportedly took place the morning of the arrest in Rubio’s office after he directed the employee to meet with him.

The report says the victim immediately reported it to a fellow employee and, subsequently, together with that employee, to human resources and security. The sheriff’s office arrived at the golf course to investigate.

Based on interviews with both the victim and Rubio, and the victim’s testimony lining up with physical evidence, the investigating officer determined sufficient probable cause to arrest Rubio for the reported sexual assault.

Officers arrested Rubio at Edgewood and brought him to the Stateline jail, where he was processed for evidence.
