STATELINE, Nev. – Erinn Coleen Miller appeared in the Tahoe Township Justice Court on Tuesday afternoon for a status conference where the state prosecutor and her defense attorney agreed to have her GPS device removed.

The school board trustee is accused of embezzling $125,000 from two Lake Tahoe parents’ clubs: the Zephyr Cove Parents Club and the Warrior Boosters Club.

On Sept. 8, a $25,000 bond or $3,750 cash bail was set for Miller on the condition that she surrender her passport, wear a GPS ankle monitor, and be under the supervision of the Department of Alternative Sentencing.

Miller’s attorney, Patrick Ferguson, requested the GPS removal. At Tuesday’s court appearance, the state said it did not oppose the request.

However, the state informed the presiding judge, Senior Judge Richard Glasson, that an alleged victim requested to make a statement about the modified bail condition. The state retracted the request when the victim did not identify themselves to the court to make the statement.

Miller’s attorney informed the court that this was his first appearance in the case, that he has not yet received an offer from the state, and that no negotiations have taken place.

The defense also waived the right to a preliminary hearing within 15 days.

The parties and the court scheduled another status conference for Oct. 27 at 1:30 p.m.
