Mofos Pizza planning to open Carson City location
A new pizza restaurant is slated to come to Carson City in late November or early December.
That’s the word from Melissa Negrillo, who co-owns Mofos Pizza with her brother, Justin Morrison.
Their family first opened a restaurant in Incline Village in 1986, and expanded to Reno in 2021, Negrillo said.
Their trademarks are high-quality food that is served in a family-friendly environment. Mofos makes everything from scratch, she said.
The family’s marinara recipe came from Negrillo’s and Morrison’s grandfather, Walter Morrison, a Lockheed P-38 pilot who obtained it from some Italian sheepherders after he was shot down in southern Italy during World War II.
In addition to pizza and pasta dishes, Mofos’ Carson City location will include a salad bar, along with desserts.
The store at 444 E. William St., will replace Big Chicken and have 25 to 30 employees. Those looking for employment can apply at mofospizza.com.
Business hours will be 11 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., seven days a week.
Mofos Pizza’s other locations are at 18180 Wedge Parkway in Reno, just north of Mt. Rose Highway, and 868 Tahoe Blvd., in Incline Village.
