LTCC secures trio of top-10 finishes to take fifth at Pink in the Park

SALINAS, Calif. — The Lake Tahoe Community College men’s cross country team captured fifth place out of 15 teams with a score of 134 at the Pink in the Park Invitational.

Sophomore Elijah Gilleland crossed the finish line in sixth place overall with a season-best time of 20:59.1. He was followed immediately by fellow sophomores Kyle Oltmanns and Jacob Manning, who also secured top-10 finishes and season-best marks to form a dominant lead pack. Oltmanns took seventh at 21:14.9, while Manning placed eighth after clocking 21:16.3.

Kenton Girt provided crucial scoring depth in the middle of the field, finishing 52nd overall with his own season-best time of 22:41.5. Freshman Richard Stites rounded out the scoring five for LTCC, placing 69th with a time of 23:13.2.

Shivraj Dhillon also competed for the Coyotes, finishing 83rd with a time of 23:54.4.

Tolby leads Coyote quartet at Pink in the Park Invitational

SALINAS, Calif. — The Lake Tahoe Community College women’s cross country team sent four individual competitors to the trails to race in the Pink in the Park Invitational.

Freshman Shanaya Tolby continued to lead the way for Lake Tahoe. Tolby secured a 60th-place finish with a time of 22:06.7 in a field of 114 runners.

Fellow freshman Tatum Warren followed closely behind, crossing the finish line in 74th place with a time of 23:10.3. 

The Coyotes welcomed two new faces to the course. Willa Young and Xinwei Li made their collegiate debuts, gaining valuable race experience for LTCC. Young finished in 78th place with a time of 23:24.9, while Li placed 99th after crossing the line in 26:30.4.
